MMHS over SMTP Extended to Outlook

SMHS Ltd has extended its development prototype work to support the standardisation of STANAG 4406 Edition 2 Elements of Service for Internet Email.

Prototype MMHS over SMTP Clients

SMHS Ltd has been working on the standardisation of STANAG 4406 Edition 2 Elements of Service for Internet Email. One of the Internet Drafts that has been submitted to the IETF is the Registration of Military Message Handling System (MMHS) header fields for use in Internet Mail.

In order to help gain wider adoption of this approach for MMHS over SMTP, SMHS has prototyped a number of extensions to popular email clients. More details can be found here.

Nexor Introduce Data Diode Product

Nexor have introduced a new data diode product to sit alongside it other products that provide assured data transfer between different security domains.
The product appears to be a rebadging of the Fox-IT Data Diode. Nexor is listed as their UK partner. The data diode uses a reliable, one-way, protocol over a single fibre of optical cable to bridge conventional TCP-IP based procotols such as FTP and SMTP.

ACP123(B) Published

After thirteen year, ACP 123, “Common Messaging Strategy and Procedures", has been updated to Edition B. ACP123(B), dated May 2009, is now the effective standard for CCEB Nations, replacing ACP123(A) dated August 1997.

NEDS procurement have issued amendment 11 and extended the bid submission date to 3rd March 2010

The NEDS procurement have issued amendment 11 and extended the bid submission date from 6th November 2009 to 3rd March 2010. This is in regard to the invitation of bids by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) for the support of the NATO Enterprise Directory Service (NEDS) Phase 2.
The intention of this project is to provide services for the filtering and synchronisation of information between the various NATO directories.

ESS equivalentLabels mandatory in STANAG 4631

In recent work conducted by NATO and the nations to find solutions to meet the complexity of label harmonization, it has been realized that the use of equivalentLabels provides increased flexibility to support label harmonization.

Version 1.1 of the Implementer's Guide for STANAG 4631 has consequently made the support for the RFC 2634 Enhanced Security Services equivalentLabels signed attribute mandatory.
