NATO MMHS Working Group
Working Group 5 (WG5) studies issues in NATO Military Message Handling Systems (MMHS). WG5 typically meets 3 times a year and discusses issues that relate to both NATO and the NATO Nations. It maintains STANAG 4406 which defines the military messaging content type which, along with ACP123 which is itself based upon an earlier version of STANAG 4406, is used as the basis for nearly all national MMHS systems.
It maintains a website and an archive of documents that have been approved for public release. It contains information on various aspects of military messaging including tactical messaging, secure messaging and summary of national implementations.
However, the website is a little out of date and the archive is a little cumbersome to navigate. These pages provide a more update and useful index into the archive.
